The Phoenix schools are recently launching a campaign designed to invite and attract kindergarten students to schools within the city. These schools get there funds based on enrollments so the more students who enroll, the more money the school will sooner or later have to pay for the maintenance respective Phoenix schools. This would bring about the perception that those schools that got the most students signing up are actually better than the other Phoenix schools. This mentality is just wrong since more money does not mean quality education although the school may have more resources to work with.
It is truly important for Phoenix schools that they should offer the same services. There is a much better way to go over about things. One would be able to find a different way of funding them. Public-funded schools in Phoenix schools should offer the same program to students. Thus when a student changes schools in the same area then they should be able to continue with the same curriculum as with their old Phoenix schools.
The Phoenix public education in the area is provided by around 30 school districts. The Phoenix Union High School District operates almost all the Phoenix public high schools in the city. Some charter schools also exist such as the North Pointe Preparatory School. The foremost institution regarding the higher education in the area is Arizona State University, having its main campus located in Tempe, as well as satellite campuses, ASU West, ASU Downtown both are in Phoenix. ASU is so far the currently one of the largest Phoenix public universities in the U.S., with a 2007 students enrollment of 64,394. The City of Phoenix is also home of the famous Thunderbird School of Global Management, which is regarded as the leading of all Phoenix schools in the education of global managers and it has operations in the United States (Glendale), Switzerland, Mexico, Central and South America and China, and was ranked No. 1 in various international business by The Wall Street Journal’s poll.
Phoenix public schools have so much to offer but the government sensing the continued need for educational improvements, and in order to keep up with the global and national standards, Phoenix schools are facing these demands head on. Some of them for example have already implemented various innovative Science, Art, and IB (International Baccalaureate) programs. More and more are offering children an Opportunity to learn and improve their education by giving them teaching models that would help them to think critically and to learn from a global perspective.
